Signal Strength

'Signal Strength' refers to how well you are able to pick up the alphabounce forums, which seemingly broadcast from the origin point at [0][0]. The forums are a useful feature of alphabounce that allow prisoners to keep up with news as well as asking questions to aid them in their progress throughout the universe. The further away you get from this point, the weaker your signal becomes, affecting your ability to get the forum as follows:

Weak Signal

This first drop in signal strength arises when the absolute value of either one of your coordinates is or exceeds 50.

For example, this would occur at coordinates such as [50][0], [-50][0] and [0][-75]. The effects of being this far away from the origin are minimal, and only lead to the forums being slightly faded like so:

Very Weak Signal

Your signal strength drops again when the absolute value of either one of your coordinates is or exceeds 100. Once you pass this point in any direction, the forum becomes incredibly faded, making it very difficult to read the various topics that may be there:

No Signal

A total loss of your signal occurs when one of your coordinates goes past 150 in any direction. When this happens, the forums become totally inaccessible to you unless you go back in range:

Improving Signal Strength

Signal strength can be improved simply by returning closer to the origin point, however if you find yourself travelling out of range a lot and like having access to the forums, then there is an upgrade called the Ki-Wi Antenna, which strengthens the signal and allows you to receive the forum no matter how far out you are. So where previously the forum would have been inaccessible, you will instead get this:

Whether you decide the Ki-Wi Antenna is worth the minerals it costs is up to you, however this is the only way to participate in the forum from far out, so the more you progress through the game the more you might want to consider getting it!

Another way to access the forum is to simply log out of Alphabounce before visiting the forum. However, you will not be able to post in threads.
