Salmeen the Mechanic: Step 1

by Integuy1

Mission Image/Text

After studying the structure of your envelope, Salmeen thinks he can modify it and enable you to fly over planets. In order to do this, he needs elements which he thinks can be found on spaceship wrecks to the east of the origin point. The first part is located at [44][-5].

Mission Clear Text

Using elements taken from the wrecks, Salmeen was able to improve your envelope's external shield and install a surface engine. You can now explore planets by entering their atmosphere. However, you must be careful for each entry in a planet's atmosphere will consume a hydrogen capsule. Don't forget to save some fuel in order to return to outer space!

Details

How to unlock mission: Finish Salmeen (Mission).

How to complete mission: Pick up the four parts at [44][-5], [46][-1], [50][-9], and [58][-12].

Reward: The ability to fly over planets, and the unlocking of Salmeen the Mechanic: Step 2 (Mission).

Notes

You do not need to pick up the part at [44][-5] first, nor any of them in any specific order.

Also, you will still be unable to land until you complete Step 2, even though you have completed this Mission.

The names of the four parts are as follows:

[44][-5] = Atmospheric Shield

[46][-1] = External Armor

[50][-9] = Hydraulic Stabilisator

[58][-12] = Engine Wreck

Noticed this wasn't here, so added it straight from my missions page. Haven't completed it and probably won't as I'm headed for Moltear. Sorry if I messed up any format things.

shouldn't step 2 be a link to the next mission?

Sorry, I don't know how to do links.

You can do so by selecting text and click on the earth icon, then select the page, or type the url. Since there is no page yet with Salmeen the Mechanic step 2, there's no need to make it a link either (it's more work to fix broken links due to faulty guesses than insert new links).

the page you created has been deleted: please be more careful to check for existing pages before creating new ones! The title for this page is correct.

try to go into it in the missions page cos that's where the link is wrong...

ok then those links have now been fixed, it was the colon that was the problem.

and even though ive now noticed there isnt a colon in the actual name, it makes sense to have one there so im happy to leave it like that.

yay
where do you want us to post if we find something like this again?

I don't quite get it. Why does it say the reward was "the ability to fly over planets", can't you do that before finishing the mission as well? Where's the difference?

Flying over planets doesnt mean playing a standard level. It means you'll have the landing option, so youll be able to lower yourself down to a surface that can eventually be landed on. Without the landing pods, though, you can't actually land which is why you must also complete salmeen the mechanic pt.2 for this to be any use.

Hope this cleared things up a bit; also those coords are confirmed for every player, not randomised *fixes*
